been a while since i did a simple t-shirt reconstruction. even with all the regular band shirts i still have. it’s not quite as epic as my recent scrap dress, but still pretty damn fabulous.

i feel like i’m always saying how i love the clothes i make so much. now i’m going to have to say it again. I LOVE THIS DRESS SO MUCH. it’s the tea. it gives it that amazing impossible-to-capture-properly antique look. & makes the fabrics look much better together.
not that i don’t love everything else about this dress.

& the back! i was actually really stuck with that, for a good three quarters of a day. i wanted to keep part of it open, but how? vivifromage eventually inspired this. she’s amazing with those details.

i also really like how the sleeve things turned out. as you can see, they’re ruffles all around the arm opening. with all those ruffles they feel like little wings.

i can’t wait to wear this when i see etid again this sunday! or, you know, just to see them again.

bonus, just for fun picture:

thanks for looking!

these are all from etsy, found searching for floral. i already did a feature on this once, but that was so long ago, i needed to renew it. i just love floral things. can’t seem to get enough of it lately!

oh, i just want everything.

hope you like what i picked as much as i do! be sure to check them all out!

i made this yesterday. i love it so very much. i could wear it every day. it’s so cute & fruity & comfortable & flattering & has CANCER BATS on it <(^-^)> i usually don’t model clothes i don’t plan to sell myself, but my dressform really wouldn’t do this dress justice.

this is the first empire-waisted dress i’ve ever made out of a t-shirt. to me, it always seemed like such an obvious way to reconstruct a big ol’ t-shirt, which is why i always refused to do it. & also because these are very easy to get wrong. aesthetically, i mean. but then i saw this amazing hooded one & was inspired.

i bought that t-shirt at a cancer bats show on tuesday. i loved the colours of it. unfortunately i bought a medium (note to self: when planning to reconstruct it, ALWAYS buy the largest) & it didn’t quite have enough fabric in it for the part above the empire waist. that part is made out of four sleeves! two from other t-shirt remnants. it was a very tight fit, but i think it turned out well. & at the front i was able to use the sleeve parts to my advantage :]

i didn’t have to buy anything new to make this dress, which was awesome. have i mentioned how much i love it?

thanks for looking!

i just finished this today. i started a few weeks ago with it, right before my old sewing machine broke. but nearly everything is sewn with my new one :] have i mentioned how much i love my new sewing machine?

i’ve never made a messenger bag before. i don’t know why, i love messenger bags. i think it turned out very well! i didn’t follow any specific guidelines or anything, i just drew a very simple rectangle pattern (of which i later rounded the bottom edges off) based on the measurements of my school binder & started cutting & sewing.

i love the colours of it so much! (hot) pink, turquoise & yellow is pretty much my new all-time favourite colour combination.

it has six pockets in total: a large plain one (not pictured) at the back, one at the side, one at the front with five pen pouches, a zippered one on the inside back & two more at the inside front. aren’t pockets awesome?

made from a muse t-shirt & this amazing striped fabric i never get around to using. the graphic on the shirt isn’t spectacular, but i thought it would go really well with that fabric, so i just had to buy it :p i really like how it turned out. though maybe the pocket openings would’ve looked better if i made them bigger.
& this is in a size medium :]

look at me thinking like a capitalist xD
i love tnbc though & would never make anything purely for the sake of popularity. i had a very different idea in my head for this one, but because of the size of the graphic i had to improvise. my first improvised idea wouldn’t work either, because apparently you can’t cut a medium (or even a small!) top out of an extra large girl t-shirt, so i was forced to add side-panels. & then i got the ideas for corset lacing & stripes at the top. & because i can’t find striped knit fabric anywhere in this country, i had to make it myself from black & white knit fabric. it wasn’t half as obnoxious as i had expected it to be.

i just finished this one today. it’s made from a t-shirt from the used, one of the most amazing ones i’ve ever seen. the collar didn’t turn out quite how i wanted (i wanted it super ruffly), but i would be able to live with that flaw. although. a paying customer might not. that & the fact that it fits me perfectly & i adore it anyway is making me doubt selling this. also, the used is one of my all-time favourite bands :p i don’t know, i guess i’ll mull it over the next few days. your opinion on this would be much appreciated. yes, you. & if you desperately need to have it for yourself, don’t hesitate to tell me :]

will list these sunday-ish.

this week’s theme: polka dots! i’ve been on a polka dot kick lately. more than usual :p but polka dots are just awesome.

enjoy!

these are all from etsy, again. hope you like what i’ve picked! i know i do. those hair things make me miss having hair :p

oh, yellow. don’t you just love yellow? i know i do. there’s just something magical about that color, that other colors like pink & turquoise don’t have. i actually used to hate yellow when i was younger, because it was so bright & cheerful, but now it’s one of my new favorite colors :]

but, on with the features:

all from etsy, found searching for yellow. it was not easy to find products i loved with that tag. hope you like what i’ve picked! & be sure to check them all out!
