sea/mermaid themed.

i’ve always loved mermaids & been fascinated by sea life.
when i was a mini mara i wanted nothing more than to be a mermaid. once, i let a friend of mine convince me that mermaids existed. she said that they lived in the shells on the shore at her beach house. she said it was very unlikely that we would see them, since they died very easily if they came out of those shells. but they were there.
i filled my pockets with those shells. i would stare at them until my vision blurred, hoping i would catch a glimpse. i never did, of course. eventually i realized that it was just a fantastical lie. yet, all these years later, i’m still looking.

enjoy!

also in a treasury on etsy, with more items. feel free to check that out, click on the items & maybe even comment on there so more people will see this talented bunch.

this week another craftanon etsy street team edition. i think i’ll do these regularly, once a month or so. my fellow teammates are always churning out so much amazing stuff & i need to promote the team more anyway :p

enjoy!

these are, obviously, all from etsy. you can find more team members by searching for ‘craftanon team’ there.
be sure to check them all out! & heart them! & buy them!

i just finished this today:

i love it so much! mostly because of the fabric. i was going to use that fabric to make something for my shop, but i torture myself enough with pretty clothes i can’t wear. so i made this lovely skirt for me :] i really needed more high-waisted skirts. still do. i think they might be my new thing. they’re so comfortable & flattering & make your legs look longer.

i wanted to add pockets in the side-seams, but, as often, i only just remembered that i was going to do that when i had already serged the sides shut. such a shame. pockets would really have made this one of the best skirts ever. despite that i made it a wee bit too big.

this one i made a looooong time ago, just never posted it. mostly because i wasn’t sure whether it was finished or not.

& just as i decided that it was finished & had photographed it & everything, i got the idea to add another row or two of lace at the bottom. which i’ll do when i’ve bought more lace.

thanks for looking!

these are all from etsy, found searching for floral. i already did a feature on this once, but that was so long ago, i needed to renew it. i just love floral things. can’t seem to get enough of it lately!

oh, i just want everything.

hope you like what i picked as much as i do! be sure to check them all out!

oh god, this pinafore gave me so much trouble, i’m SO glad it’s finally done. it’s for a photoshoot for creepy queen magazine by nitemare photography. i’m pretty excited about it.
& it will be for sale when i get it back.

what do you think? i would really like some opinions on it.
i apologize for being so brief, but i’m kind of in a hurry. there’s still soooo much i have to do before i go to amsterdam for evelyn evelyn later. like ship that pinafore.

thanks for looking!

i just finished this today. i started a few weeks ago with it, right before my old sewing machine broke. but nearly everything is sewn with my new one :] have i mentioned how much i love my new sewing machine?

i’ve never made a messenger bag before. i don’t know why, i love messenger bags. i think it turned out very well! i didn’t follow any specific guidelines or anything, i just drew a very simple rectangle pattern (of which i later rounded the bottom edges off) based on the measurements of my school binder & started cutting & sewing.

i love the colours of it so much! (hot) pink, turquoise & yellow is pretty much my new all-time favourite colour combination.

it has six pockets in total: a large plain one (not pictured) at the back, one at the side, one at the front with five pen pouches, a zippered one on the inside back & two more at the inside front. aren’t pockets awesome?
