Archive for October, 2010

when i placed an order at angrygirl gear last month, i had already been lusting after some of her clothes (like the corset top featured here) for years. YEARS. but every time i had money to spend on clothes i was too impatient to wait up to four weeks for something custom. silly, i know.
& then it was my birthday last month & i had an excuse to ask for money & a desperate need to expand the darker side of my wardrobe, again, & i thought of cindy.

this is the top i bought:

the estimated waiting time was six weeks, but for once i was in luck & she managed to finish it much earlier. i received it yesterday :]

i see now that these are not the best pants to wear with it :p next time a skirt. & my hooker boots.

even if i had to wait for six weeks, it would well have been worth the wait. the quality is fucking amazing. it absolutely lives up to, if not outstrips, its price. & by now i’m used to pretty good quality & usually don’t even notice it anymore, unless it’s bad. seriously, fucking amazing.
other than that the communication was good, shipping prompt & inexpensive. unfortunately no clothing label/tag, nothing extra in the package (oh, how some other crafters have spoiled me), but honestly, who cares when the actual clothing is so very, very good?
absolutely recommended.

some other awesome things for sale:

that first shrug is the next thing i’m buying! somewhere in the future when i have money for these things again…

when i started cutting the fabric for this yesterday morning i optimistically thought i could finally start with my massive pile of homework in the afternoon. there was no way i would need all day for this one dress, i thought. suddenly the sky was the darkening & i had to take a break to cook. & then today i spent all day taking pictures & editing all those pictures & getting my descriptions & prices ready & listing on etsy & i still haven’t done any homework, at 1 am. *sigh*

i love, love, love how it turned out. it’s crazy comfortable. & already listed on etsy! along with all those other things i’ve been meaning to list. first things in EIGHT MONTHS. lack of sales are not motivating, you know.

anyway, i’d love to hear what you think of my new things! & the pictures that accompany them, made with my new, good camera & different backgrounds & such.

thanks for looking!

oh, & i was featured in an awesome stripey treasury today. or rather, yesterday. check it out.

i’m so glad i have vacation this week. now i can sew again! for anything other than that stupid sewing techniques class! i’m trying to make as much things as possible from materials i already have for my shop. it’s been so long since i added anything new.

anyway, the theme for this month (craftanon team) is stripes. & this is what i came up with, from what i already have. it took absurdly long to make. & i did it all wrong twice. i’m so out of it, it’s ridiculous. but i think it turned out alright. eventually.

more stripes! this one went very smoothly, until the end. somehow the bottom became wayyy too wide. & i had to put in a new, smaller band of that awesome hearts fabric i have very little of. i love it though.

will be listed soon-ish.
