holland! i don’t know why i was in such a rush to get the hell out of here.
… the past few weeks i’ve been thinking about going to college in america & was actually really excited about it, but apparantly i’d have to enroll months ago & it was the end of my dream. also, i don’t get the school system there at all. i was kinda sad about it for a few days, but looking around i realized how much i actually loved holland. i love the architecture, i love the cycling thing, i love how crazy excited all the dutch people get about sunny weather, i love how easy it is to meet band members at shows, i love how unabashed & uncensored the dutch are, i love the older cities like amsterdam & utrecht… even though there’s nothing really important keeping me, for the next few (& i DO mean few) years i’ll be perfectly content here.

the diyscene forums!
DIYscene.com - DIY Clothing, Indie Design, and Craft Discussion Forum
i’ve only been a member for a few days, but i already like it better than craftster.

following tom felton on twitter! his updates usually make me smile :] i can’t wait to see him in the new harry potter movie!

having an organized fabric stash! it was really messy, so today i reorganized it & threw out (blasphemous, i know) all the fugly fabrics that i never would’ve used & nobody would’ve bought off of me. my taste & standards have really changed over the past few years.

bright colours! i’m already growing out of my pastel phase :p i used to love bright colours so much. then i really started to like more neutral tones & pastels. but now i love bright colours again ^^

reading & writing every day! i had almost forgotten how addicting those things can be.

slip dresses, pearl necklaces, stockings with garter belts, brightly coloured make-up, false eyelashes, elaborate bows, bling, insanely high stilettos; basically the “classy ho” look :p i really need more items like that…

my new sugar mafia/callow lily ring!

i know, the picture’s shit, but i can’t help the lighting in my room.
i just got it & am wearing it right now. it’s so BIG! & well-crafted too. i adore it :] i’ll probably wear it on a daily basis.

having lots of money again! & spending it terribly unresponsibly! while i still can. for now i’ll stop buying so many unneccessary things though. i have to invest more in my shop.

finally having wireless internet! it’s really nice to be able to move my laptop around without that long annoying wire.

improving myself! it’s really an ongoing project. i blame gala darling. i’m nowhere near as cynical & misanthropic & hopeless as i was last year. i’m finally starting to live up to my name (maraluce means “sea of light”)! & i like it :]

that’s all i can think of right now, but there are LOTS more things that i’ve loved since my last tilt.

i know, i know, i haven’t written in two weeks. but i don’t like posting when i don’t actually have anything to say. so there.

& thank you to everyone that’s been looking & commenting! :]

i just finished this an hour or so ago:

i really wanted to make something (else) & wanted an excuse to use my new fabric, so i rummaged through my never-ending pile of t-shirts i should reconstruct & came across an old disney world t-shirt that i had totally forgotten about. i had the idea of making a simple racerback tank without all that frilly nonsense. but. somehow loads of frilly nonsense snuck in there anyway.

it started with the t-shirt being too small to cut a full front out, so i had to add side panels. & then the front was much too pink (even for me) & i added the eyelet tape. then the rest of the front looked too bland & i added the lace on top & the bows. but then the bottom looked even more naked, so i pulled some ribbon through the eyelets. & then i looked at it, cringed at the lolita-ness & thought “oh well, might as well go all the way” & added the lace at the bottom.

the back was a lot more straightforward; just my new pink & white stars & stripey fabric. i got it from purpleseamstress on ebay. she also threw in the eyelet tape & the lace i used at the bottom, which i found pretty awesome.

i’ve never made a racerback tank before, so i’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. i probably should’ve made the racerback part thinner though. i’ll just remember it for my next one :p

i made this one right before the aforementioned. started yesterday, finished it this morning. i meant to reconstruct that stone sour t-shirt AGES ago. i bought a medium, so i had more options with it & never meant to wear it as it was. that was about two years ago. & i’ve worn it many times since, as unflattering as it was. heh. but no more!

i never knew what to do with it because of the colour of the graphics, but then i got the idea to give it a lace yoke & flutter sleeves from vivifromage. it really wasn’t hard to do, though the sleeves kind of confused me. & when it was almost done i decided to give it a regular black collar as well. i also had to give it a big neck opening, ’cause otherwise my dreads wouldn’t fit through xD

i actually made this over a week ago, but then i put it in my closet right after it was finished & forgot to take pictures & show it off. it’s made from an old, worn to death, mugglecast t-shirt. even though my obsessed harry potter phase is officially over & i haven’t listened to mugglecast in forever, the mugglecasters still hold a special place in my heart. in fact, they’re one of the main reasons my obsessed harry potter phase lasted that long xD

back to the top. it’s fairly simple, just a (modified) contour bust top with mesh side panels & some decorative lace & bows. the bust part is actually very bright purple, but my camera totally butchered it. i’m sure i’ll get lots of “no theory is safe? what the hell is that about?” questions when i’ll wear this. especially now that it’s so flashy & goes perfectly with my tutu’s, so it will get even more wear. oh, well.

wearing a scarf in my hair! i can’t believe i never thought of this before. it’s not only cute, but convenient too. keeps most of my dreads out of the way, without resorting to a ponytail :]

warm bread straight out of the oven

productivity!

clueless. while the plot isn’t spectacular, it’s still one of my all-time favourite movies :] & now i have it on my laptop! (downloaded from itunes)

getting compliments yelled at me while i’m cycling

Photobucket Photobucket

my new brass knuckles necklace! just found it in the mail today. it’s actually functional! or it could be :p & it goes really well with my hair & is nice & sparkly.

i got it from krista.

poladroid, still.

people actually looking at my blog! though no one’s commented yet. i had 87 views (so far) today, 61 yesterday & 60 the day before that. yay, craftster! ^^

all of the amazing compliments i’ve been getting on my new clothes:]

the little girl that quit playing with her friends & ran up to me just to stare at my hair. hahaha, i love how unabashed children can be sometimes xD

the prospect of having money & buying things again soon! even though it’s not money i earned myself. i can’t wait to buy more from toxic vision! it’s one of my all-time favourite diy brands :] sharon never ceases to amaze me with the things she churns out. but her clothes are pretty expensive, so i often have to watch other people buy the things i need to have.

watching my favourite episodes of boy meets world over & over. it’s crazy how many years i’ve watched & loved this show. i can’t believe that it stopped almost a DECADE ago.

the first episode of love & sequins! (gala darling’s new podcast) i have it on my ipod & listened to it three times already. it’s worth every cent. i love gala. she’s seriously amazing.

yoga for my back & shoulders. years & years of slouching = pain.

re-reading lord of the rings! i haven’t done that in far too long. i’m in the middle of the two towers right now.

doing “thing i love thursday” on my own blog! instead of just icing. not that i won’t copy & then paste this list on icing later.

i’ve been so productive lately; it’s amazing.
i actually made these before the hoodie that i posted yesterday, but didn’t take any pictures until this morning.

i want to keep them! especially the pinafore! it has polka dots & lace & SEQUINS & hearts & bows & lots of buttons & an amazing flattering silhouette… i think i’ll just make another one for myself :p in pink.
the pinafore reminds me of minnie mouse for some reason, so i decided to call it minnie :] & because the bloomers go so well with it, they’ll be mickey. naming clothes is fun!

i’m really starting to love bloomers of this length. they look so cute peeking out under short dresses. & they’re so comfortable! i really should make more bloomers for myself. i only have like, three pairs. & two to sleep in.

but now i have to go list these two in my stores & promote those stores like my life depends on it.

it used to be a HUGE solid black mens hoodie. i wore it to death during my short, depressing “ew, i gained weight & now i can’t wear tight clothing anymore” phase. but now i feel pretty & vain again & can’t fathom how i once dared to go outside in something that big & unflattering.

so, i gave it new life as a cute, fitted hoodie! there really wasn’t much i could do with it, since it was already a hoodie & the graphics on the front went all the way over the pockets. i just gave it a new hood, waistband & sleeves & decorated the pockets with lace. after making it smaller, of course :p

& this finally gave the c&a shirt that i only bought because it had stripes, but never wore (it had a pretty big keyhole at the front), a use! it’s in the sleeves, waistband & bow.

i love how it turned out ^^ i especially like that combination of red puffed sleeves & long striped ones under that. i also love how this hoodie is actually WARM. all my other hoodies that i like are made of either t-shirt fabric or spandex.

i can’t wait to wear this out! somewhere lots of marilyn manson fans will be!
